The Kibuli Community Library for Vulnerable Children. Uganda

The objective of the Kibuli Community Library for Vulnerable Children is to disseminate information to satisfy the informative, educational and recreational needs of its users.

It will be an important cornerstone for the poorest children whose parents/guardians cannot afford to pay for their school requirements, let alone buy books for them.

The purpose for establishing this Community Library will be to lend books that will help the vulnerable children not only to be educated but to introduce a reading culture to them. It will also be a proactive one that will provide space for learning that will directly address the needs of the children.

Current Status:

We submitted our Concept Note for the Community Library to the Minister of Ethics and Integrity in May2021. Thereafter we were not able to implement  it because of the partial lockdown and then the full lockdown that were instituted by the President of the Republic of Uganda.

Once the library has been established by the Ubuntu Lab Institute Uganda, it will require support both in funds and kind to manage it.

Hence, we need funders to assist us procure reading materials, a first aid box, computers, furniture and equipment to mention a few.
